Kill the Guy is among the few very old fangames that truly hold up to modern standards. Production is great, and its puzzle-focused platforming is full of creative room designs that usually make great use of its choice of gimmicks. That said, I did have a fair number of issues. Most of them are with individual rooms or sections, so they might be considered nitpicks, but since other reviews don't really point them out, I want to focus on them a bit.

The number one problem: bullet bills. They're everywhere in this game, especially in chapter 2, which would be fine (if a tad overused), if the cycles were better adjusted. Many times you'll have a save right next to a cannon, and have to wait 4-5 seconds for it to fire on every attempt. It's a small thing, but it's very frustrating and made me strongly dislike a lot of chapter 2, which already suffers from the missing boss, making it decidedly the low point of the game.

Other than that, there are some bad visibility issues with the outlines of the switching blocks in chapter 4, and the spotlight rooms which are just bad, tedious memorization, but nothing major.

The bosses are solid overall. Exor is quite tedious if, like me, you keep dying on phase 3, because including the filler transition attack, there's like 15 seconds between each phase. The Boshy fights and Geezer are cool, though Dark Boshy is a bit too learn-heavy and the blue shurikens are just a timewaster. The music and visuals make up for it. Big Boo is impossible (or I'm just bad).

So while lots of small issues prevent it from being a favourite of mine, I still enjoyed it quite a bit and would recommend it especially if you enjoy creative platforming with lots of moving parts.

Iconic fangame with great puzzle gimmicks that rarely disappoints.
The bosses, albeit a bit unpolished, are well made and fun - especially Geezer which I’d rank highly even among modern bosses.

In short - a must-play for any aspiring fangamer

For the most part, it's a slow slow-paced puzzle-platformer with unique and interesting bosses, and great production value in music, graphics and design. There are some difficulty spikes (which I personally enjoyed more than the puzzles, one example being the hard and fast-paced Chapter 5), a ridiculous RNG trial and some bugs, but overall it's one of the best I Wanna Be The Guy fangames. A great game to play if you haven't done so yet.

Difficulty is mostly based off the RNG trial and the fast-paced Chapter 5, otherwise I would rate it around 50.

Good and epic game. Story even though it's minimal, it's still cool. The gameplay is epic. Bosses are one of the best I've ever seen (except the optional one but that's barely even a boss more of a minigame). Overall, perfect fangame. Only problem is that it's unfinished. But the content so far is still epic.
