A stunning presentation for only a 1 month time frame for creation. The classic Mattin formula of an adventure game with exploration elements, wrapped in top tier production value, with a difficulty level that makes it accessible to a wide audience.
The game features a variety of power-ups, some of which are weapons that not only give the player options for fighting enemies, but are used to open up new paths for exploration. On top of this, there is an inventory system, secrets, and a shop. This game brings more to the table with a 30 day production window than many larger projects do that get lost into dev limbo for ages.
This game is another must-play for both players and especially game-makers as a lesson on what these games could be if the makers stop trying to make something that's really hard instead of something really fun.

Fairly short and inconsequential, but it has a certain charm to it and makes for a nice beginner adventure game, especially since it makes things pretty forgiving overall by giving the player HP. The bosses all kinda suck tbh, but they're not hard enough for it to matter so whatever.
Also, the download link listed on DelFruit is broken (and the name is actually incorrect too - it's "in shining armor," not "of shining armor"), so I don't know if this was officially released yet or not... I found a download from elsewhere.

Apparently this game was made in one month. I don't know how MattinJ did it but wow is this guy good.
This is a really high quality metroidvania-style fangame. You venture and backtrack throughout a small but well-designed map as you collect items which let you traverse deeper within them. The platforming is really fun and the factor of having health makes boss fights more enjoyable as well. The game isn't that short either, it's a solid one and a half to two hour long game if you don't try to rush beating it.
The humor of the game is also great, I feel like that is an aspect that should be acknowledged.
There was a part which hardlocked me. When you first become small, I tried to go back to the town and I ended up dying while saved between two of the grass blocks you cut with your sword. When I respawned, I was locked between them and was stuck being small. This led me to finding out a bug in the game, when you press New Game it doesn't actually start a new game, the chests reset but you are just sent back to the start with all your stuff. So I was stuck in the Kid's house and had to delete the Data file. This issue only cost me like 6 minutes of time so it was not a big deal but I am surprised it happened.
Either way, this is a really fun metroidvania-inspired fangame that is really well designed, some parts are better than others, but overall really well-made game, especially for a development time of a singular month.
