The needle was good. The avoidance, not so good. The fight doesn't engage the player. It doesn't have that drive that other few avoidances have to keep the player occupied. Visual effects can make a very strong impact when used correctly, but you tend to use the same camera pans and camera zooms in all your fights. The last attack is also much harder than the other attacks, and this trend is unfortunately prominent in the majority of avoidances I've seen. There are many different views on how people think an avoidance should be though, so you shouldn't take my words as absolute.

Paragus
A really interesting game from a needle perspective. The art style and jump designs are a nice break from the norm. The musical choices were a bit confusing to me and sort of got old on the second half of the game where the saves were much longer and more difficult than the first half. Game ends in an avoidance, the quality of which is debatable. I thought some of the attacks droned on for too long which made it hard to keep me interested enough to finish it. That aside, the needle is decent.

The last couple of screens are iffy but the rest was fun. The last save of the second-last screen was utter garbage but apparently it's getting slightly nerfed, maybe. Didn't play the avoidance.
