Short needleventure style game with some neat ideas and a solid package, but with some rough edges. Comments will be based on the hard mode for IWT.

General production is clean, with a neat title screen and a nice tileset.

The platforming has a lot of varied ideas which were interesting to see, but the general length and precision of saves was all over the place (with no real correlation to one another) so it was a bit of a bumpy ride. It had a custom gimmick that it did a good job exploring.

Boss incorporated said stage gimmick (always a plus for me), though it could've used a bit more diversity in gameplay.

Overall, it felt like a good beginning to a greater project, but struggled to feel properly encapsulated on its own, and didn't feel like it was quite polished all the way. Either way, still an interesting single stage (and may be a smoother ride on lower difficulty) and a promising start for a first release as it definitely showed the capability to check the boxes on a great game, even if it didn't quite do it yet.

It's an alright game that's very short and centers around spike-based platforming with these cacti that bounce you around. I had to play on hard mode for the IWT but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it due to some of the red spikes making things a bit unpleasant. As someone else mentioned, it very much reminded me of C1 Bifficult mode. The boss fight was fine, though not especially exciting either. I do quite like the artwork on the title screen and the tileset.

Rating based on Hard Mode, which was the required difficulty for the I Wanna Tourney.

It's a short adventure game with a boss at the end, and mainly focuses on two gimmicks which you encounter pretty quickly in. For the most part, it's decent, if you're willing to have something that runs heavy on the Needle side. The visuals are also done well and show off Rossiter's cartoony vibe that he previously demonstrated in NANC 2.

However, I do think the game has a few shortcomings that lessen the experience, especially on the hard difficulty. First, specifically for Hard mode, it felt as if spikes had just been placed randomly Cultured 1 Bifficult style, and only made things a bit more obnoxious; personally I recommend playing the game on Medium as I think the Tourney's Hard requirement was a wrong move. There's also a moment in the game where you have to use the first gimmick sideways, and it felt way too finicky to use correctly. Finally, I was especially disappointed by the boss entirely, it utilizes the second gimmick in an interesting way but then fails to deliver the premise by having player killers bounce around the room; I think this attack should just be removed in exchange for more focus on the actual gimmick.

Overall, it's decent, but don't play it on hard if you want a more enjoyable experience.

Nifty little game with levels that are fun to navigate! I especially liked the cactus jump gimmick, and even thought to give them super launches to the side as well, which were incorporated excellently! There were some uncomfortably big difficulty spikes from easy to medium, got to work on a smoother transition between "a bit of a challenge" and "annoyingly difficult." Overall good game!

IWT required difficulty was hard mode, I guess it's the intended one so rating is based on it.

Mediocre needle game, while the visuals are fine gameplay is very lacking. I guess medium add the green spikes and hard the red ones, kinda looked at what it would have been without the red and I'm positive that medium should have been required instead of hard because the red spikes create a lot of annoying or generic jumps. Save balance is also awful, without joking you have sometimes 1 or 2 jumps save that are 30 diff at best for no reasons. Other than that, the game is very average, your typical inofensive needle that could have aired several years ago. There is also a boss, kinda meh. The idea is interesting but he only has one attack so it quickly get borring. I just wanna finish by the gimmick of the game : cactuses. They act like bumpers and if there are some good use of them (mostly for auto jump), the parts where you need to get catapulted horizontally were hell.

I sadly cannot resolve myself to give it more because I was more frustrated and borred rather than entertained. There are a few good parts and ideas but everything is crushed by the amount of negative.
