For: I Wanna Spook Jam
I Wanna Spook Jam is a special Halloween collab project of over 25 fangame makers! The event was organised by Patrickgh3. Each creator gets their own stage in the game. In this review I'll give a brief mini review for each creator's stage.

128-Up Area: Neat gimmick with easy platforming. Nice tiles, background and music. Genres: Needle, Gimmick.

kadykunde Area: No spikes here. In this stage you are being chased by a 'monster' and you have to avoid cobwebs and find keys to progress. Really fun. Genres: Gimmick

Dlastons Area: The first trap area. The traps are quite funny and the boss at the end is good fun too. Genres: Trap, Boss

Kyir Area: Jump Refresher Needle. Genres: Needle, Gimmick

DarqSaintDiablo Area: This one has a really interesting gimmick, but I didn't really enjoy it. I just found it annoying. Genres: Needle, Gimmick

pieceofcheese87 Area: Pure needle with a very weird boss at the end. The needle is a bit harder than the 128-Up area. Genres: Needle, Boss

HAEGOE Area: Fun gimmick of a deadly flame following you around. Some extra stuff is added at the end of this area to add variety. There are also a couple of traps as well. Really good. Genres: Needle, Gimmick, Trap

Raynius: Funny design, with some cool gimmicks and platforming. Ends with an ok boss. Quite good. Genres: Gimmick, Boss

RandomFangamer Area: A cool concept of a gimmick that I unfortunately didn't enjoy. Has a couple annoying traps as well. Genres: Gimmick, Trap

Smartkin Area: Amazing visual and sound design, combined with fun platforming and an excellent boss. Genres: Gimmick, Boss

CosmicSense Area: Really funny and enjoyable avoidance It is very hard though. Genres: Avoidance

zebbe94 Area: Annoying boo gimmick and the tree jumps were really bad. The needle at the end was okay. Genres: Gimmick, Needle

SpicyFishesKiller Area: Really creative gimmick that was super fun to use. The puzzles got harder but they were still easily solvable. A really fun stage. Genres: Gimmick, Puzzle

Dribix Area: Wonderfully creative gimmick-oriented needleing, topped off by a really fun boss. Amazing! Genres: Needle, Gimmick, Boss

Piranha Area: Spookiest area of them all. It's an 'adventure' map set in a mansion where you have to collect pages (like Slender). There's a ghost chasing you around as well. It's a really good idea but having to do it all in one go gets irritating fast. Genres: Gimmick

Erik7654ka Area: Good Needle, good traps, good gimmicks, and good bosses. It honestly feels like a mini fangame. It's probably the longest area. Genres: Needle, Trap, Boss

WetWookie Area: This area has some really cool gimmicks that actually get quite hard. There's even some tricky needle mixed in. Genres: Needle, Gimmick

QuentinJanuel Area: Some impressive code from codemaster Quentin. The stage looks beautiful and the effects used are awesome. There is some tricky needle here and a couple gimmicks. Awesome. Genres: Needle, Gimmick

Polaroid Area: A WarioWare-like minigame with difficult needle, followed by a long and hard boss (thankfully it saves at the avoidance part). Hardest stage in the game for me. Genres: Gimmick, Needle, Boss, Avoidance

Patrickgh3 Area: Really fun gimmicks and platforming. Has some 'traps' too Quite funny as well. Really good! Genres: Needle, Gimmick, Trap

Voider Area: Fun and unique gimmicks which are put to great use with the needle, along with an okay boss. Genres: Gimmick, Boss

Lonetree Area: Cool gimmick and fun 'puzzles'. The final screen is a bit annoying but very creative. Genres: Gimmick

Lss Area: Difficult needle (some of the hardest you'll find here), with some really interesting gimmicks focused around light and dark. The way dark is used is quite creative. The final screen can be a bit tedious but otherwise it's very fun. Genres: Needle, Gimmick

DamnJelly Area: Very tricky pure needle stage. Even though it is just needle it is still very fun. The tileset is really nice and the jumps aren't tedious. Fun needle. Genres: Needle

Zapmunk Area: This stage uses a really cool gimmick to make otherwise really difficult jumps (like corners and planes (and there's even a triple diamond thrown in!)) much easier. Overall I really enjoyed this stage. Genres: Needle, Gimmick

HopPros Area: This was a really strange gimmick stage. The platforming was fun and the gimmicks were decent. Genres: Needle, Gimmick

Klazen108 Area: Very well made gimmick stage. The gimmicks are fun and well-implemented and the platforming is a good difficulty. Genres: Gimmick

Spoilers! (Final thoughts at the end)

Final Boss!:
Part 1:
This phase has you destroying parts of a heart, like HopPros' Stage. In between each part you are teleported to a section of another boss in the game. The heart wasn't too hard but was very enjoyable.


Part 2:
This is a beautiful avoidance, and it's very short which is a good and bad thing. It implements attacks from other bosses in the game. Excellent.


Part 3:
There is a tiny bit of platforming here which uses the special jump refreshers found throughout the game. After there is a fairly bland fight which is a bit annoying.


Part 4:
A very tricky multi-stage boss fight against characters based off of those in the game. I find the first phase the hardest somehow. Quite good.


Part 5:
A very difficult avoidance. Beautifully made, the music, attacks and visuals are on point. It is much harder than the rest of the game. Unfortunately the 2nd phase is a lot harder than the 1st and 3rd phases. It is amazing though.


Overall, this game is amazing. It really shows that each creator worked very hard on this, and it payed off. Almost every area and boss is amazing, and the production value is through the roof. Truly a deserved well done to each member of the team for making this fun game. And I'll be looking out for future work by Dribix ;D.

Sometimes you random a game, know exactly what you're getting into and play it anyway. After which you question why you do the things you do. This game will offer that moment of contemplation.

Alright trap game with a really good final boss. The 4(5) spike bosses are garbage, and a lot of the sections are pretty dumb, but there's a lot of fun parts. It's worth a playthrough since it's a classic game and if you can find the DL i definitely reccomend playing it

Pretty fun 4-stage trap game with decent bosses(minus the second one). Same vein as this creator's other trap games and I reccommend giving this one a try if you're looking for a decent trap game with non-garbage traps.

For: I wanna beat the Cactus jump
It's a single jump that looks like a squished gate, but is a bit more complicated than that. It requires a special kind of jump cancelling, called "Cactus Cancelling" as a reference to this game. Said technique involves the use of a keyboard rebinding software (Requiring the help of external softwares is already a step in the wrong direction) and the use of two of the same shift key (Which is why you'll need the keyboard rebinding software), and exploits some weird coding involving fangames' physics that I don't want to get into. It allows the player to stop the jump at heights that would normally be impossible to stop at (Which is how you'll avoid hitting the top spike).
The technique it requires is fairly useful, and nowadays there are some needle jumps that you can only get through by using it (Including the jump in this game), but as a game, this is pretty bad. Not only it is a one-jump game, which is already bad by default, but it features a bad jump that requires the help of external tools. Wouldn't recommend, unless you want to learn Cactus Cancelling in order to use it in a game that is actually worth playing.
