The download comes with two exe's; the first without any non-English characters is by my testing impossible, and just seems to be a buffed version of the second exe, which is much more reasonable

With the exception of a few areas, this game is absolutely perfect. The areas all had their own distinct flavor and each one kept me engaged the whole way through. Even the more needle-centric stages were a nice break from the more gimmicky ones. The bosses were great for the most part and ranged from semi-meme to mind-blowingly stunning. This is certainly a must-play. Thank you to everyone for your hard work!

This was a good 5 and a half hours of my halloween.
Since it was partially a contest, I'll throw in some of my top rankings along with my general thoughts:
TIM BURTON MOVE OVER, WE'VE GOT A NEW NIGHTMARE BEFORE HALLOWEEN(Best parts of the game)
-Areas:
-Klazen Stage. Fun puzzles, good graphics.
-Polaroid Stage. Basically a reskinned micromedley but micromedley is great anyways. Also a great song.
-HopPros Stage. Really good halloween vibe overall, just really neat.
-Dribix Stage. Holy shit dude. This was by far my favorite area. Really crisp visuals, a fantastic gimmick, a great boss fight. Really similar to erunanyan's style. Please keep making games.
-I really like the sound effects for jumping and shooting and i like the visuals in general, especially final boss and especially the kid himself.
-Really good music in general.
HEY WHO WANTS TO SEE FRIDAY THE 13TH AGAIN?(Honorable mentions)
-Damnjelly stage. I liked your needle style a lot, especially the flat spikes which i haven't really seen before. It's a nice touch.
-My inability to read those curving attacks at all during the final phase.
-The final phase of the final boss. Really neat avoidance. Even if I'm bad at it.
HEY WHO WANTS TO SEE FRIDAY THE 13TH NUMBER 7(Dishonorable mentions, i.e. things that were just minor irritations)
-The second phase of the final boss. I really appreciate the ability to say I've actually been walled, because I died like 10 times to literal walls that were impossible to dodge. Specifically the 5 pumpkin-3 laser attack which results in you hoping you're near one of the non-laser ones
-Fourth phase of final boss, specifically first part with the jester. Kinda irritating and stupid to dodge
-Lss Stage boss. The rest of the stage is nice, but the boss is kinda tedious and dumb.
WHY(Actual complaints with the game)
-This basically boils down to two people's stages that I really hated.
-Piranha Stage, where you go around collecting pages a la Slenderman. Flashlight is pretty buggy, super tedious to do, and to top it off when you're close to getting all the pages the ghost thing or whatever seems like it spawns as soon as you kill it and also it moves rediciously fast. I hate this stage.
-Zebbe Stage. My major complaint with this is the boos, since they're super "slidey", if you can understand what i mean, and turning around kinda works sometimes. The tree platforms in the first part have an unclear hitbox as well, and that led to me dying a lot to them.
I'LL SCREAM INTO THE VOID(General Shoutouts)
-Shoutout to everyone who made the game. I did have fun, most of the time
-Shoutout to Leo87 because he responded when I asked who wanted a shoutout in the discord
-Shoutout to the people in all the twitch chats today who thought it would be the funniest thing ever to make the same stupid "hurr durr 25 difficulty" comment when we both know you don't actually care about the difficulty. I've never seen a meme die so quickly.
-Shoutout to you for reading this far
25.8/28 of stuff was good, hence the rating(.8/1 final boss
-Shoutout to me

+short and fast paced apple avoidance
+almost entirely skill based
-little variation, somewhat redundant attacks
A basic apple avoidance, around 2:10 in length with the individual attacks being rather generic. Though somewhat frantic and entirely comprised of RNG-attacks, there's plenty of time to react to everything by design and little chance of getting screwed. Despite some of the attacks feeling a little too similar, still fun and decently challenging overall.

+Collab showcasing the work of 27 western gamemakers
+amazing production value and presentation
+very diverse gameplay featuring a multitude of gimmicks and boss battles
+flavorful and charming Halloween atmosphere
+built in controller support
-no significant difficulty curve, too easy for more experienced players
-feels disjointed at times
Thanks to the combined efforts of western gamemakers, this Halloween the community is in for a special treat. Under the lead development of patrickgh3 and with contributions from 26 veteran and new gamemakers, I Wanna Spook Jam far exceeds a simple holiday themed collab.
The production value is incredible, the game looks spectacular thanks to tons of custom sprites, beautiful backgrounds and pretty tilesets. The music selection excellently compliments the spooky atmosphere, featuring eerie tunes from many classic games.
I Wanna Spook Jam is not a horror game by any means and doesn't take itself too seriously, hence the tone being inconsistent at times. Though the flavor is definitely there, almost every single screen just oozes charm that kept me smiling throughout.
I Wanna Spook Jam boasts a staggering 27 stages of various length plus a final boss battle consisting of several phases. The gameplay is equally diversified, ranging from simple needle to puzzles, traps as well as various gimmicks that I don't want to spoil here. This, In combination with the frequently changing scenery, makes for a very varied fangame experience. You merely might find yourself wishing that particular stages were longer or shorter, depending on your preference.
Concerning the difficulty, I Wanna Spook Jam is very beginner friendly. Save point placement is very generous and the bosses are short and straight forward. There is no noticeable difficult curve so more experienced players will breeze through without any problems whatsoever. If you are looking for a challenge, this game has next to nothing to offer in that regard.

I Wanna Spook Jam is a very ambitious project both in size and presentation and showcases the incredible amount of creative talent present in the western community. It does feel a little disjointed occasionally as is to be expected from a project involving this many people. The diverse and rapidly changing gameplay keeps the experience from getting stale, serving as a counterbalance to the low difficulty as well. As such, I Wanna Spook Jam is a relaxing and thoroughly entertaining break from grinding harder fangames.

Collabs are great, because many ideas come together, which a single person wouldnt be able to think of and offer a great variety when it come to gameplay and gimmicks.
Sadly, there were quite a few stages which seemed really uninspired. Pretty much just needle with a few Halloween-themed visuals.
Because many people work together and make their stages seperatly, it's hard to balance everything and get a nice difficulty curve going. Some stages were out of balance and if I remember correctly, this game was meant to be around a 40~ish del-fruit difficulty. I think some stages were beyond that point.
Also the endgame felt completly out of place. You basically fight 4 bosses in a row, some were decent, some not. But alone the fact that you have such a long boss sequence to get through made me feel like playing a totally different game. But that could be just me. Also the difficulty was not a 40 for me at that point.
But still, the game is great and there a quite a few highlights like Dibixs stage for example. He manages to hide his needle behind a beautiful and well created Halloween-themed stage which hit the right difficulty I was expecting from this game. Also obsecure stages like HopPros stages made it a unique journey.
I definitly recommend that game, but I dont think it is well suited for complete beginners, which I hoped it would be.
