After years of debating whenever to play Rukito's games on and off, I finally got around to playing one. And I'm glad that I was recommended and picked this one as my first experience from him.
While I may not be a full on Rukito Enjoyer (yet?), this was the best game to demonstrate and help me appreciate his design philosophy. Most of the Needle was a blast to play through. The analysis of the initial save then the eventual build up of muscle memory and passing it always felt good.
Though I would advise to stop at the final save unless you enjoy long difficult needle grinds and I feel that not many will enjoy it on top of having a weird trigger that you must know prior unless you want to do the screen multiple times just to finally execute it (thank god it was first try and I knew how to do it). Also the boss isn't good, particularly due to phase 2.
But still, this is the best Rukito game to start with for anyone wanting to get into his games and has the experience to match up to it.

Old and horribly outdated Needle Collab.
Honestly, the worst I have to say about this game is that it's boring. From the easiest stages, it was clear that the makers only focused on hard for the sake of being so or shoving as many spikes as possible into a single screen (Looking at you tikuwa and yasuna stages). The only one I thought was sorta decent was kikkuxu stage.
Oh and regardless of your Needle skill level, you are not ready for the real seven trials that is the downwards water planes in Doruppi 2nd screen and to an extend most of the water saves.
One more thing: Those touch saves will be a pain in the ass to deal with and you CAN get potentially softlocked. It happened to me on Dorrupi first screen.
The one good thing I have to say that it was a decent-ish challenge for those treading into more advanced Needle as Kale put it. But there's so much better games for that.
