I'm a sucker for dotkid, so even though the needle isn't super special, I still had fun with it. None of the jumps were super awkward, and it was fun to flow through all of them. The avoidance is decent, dodging super fast stuff as dotkid feels good, but it can also feel unfair when rng gets rough. Still, there was a good variety of attacks. I liked the arrows coming from the right.
Hard mode honestly isn't a substantial buff. The avoidance gains infinite jump, which makes it feel a lot more dynamic, but like Wolsk says it actually winds up being easier (though maybe some of that is due to me having practice on the easy version already!)

Boring, repetitive needle without a shred of difficulty. But it inspired FFM, which is a great beginner game! So it's existence is worth it, in the long run.

Having played a lot of Randy's adventure games recently, it's really cool to see how he progressed as a maker. This game is so much better than his earliest works, but it's still a bit behind Humble Abode, and his later adventure games really stepped it up.
The needle here is pretty fun, a bit awkward at times though. Particularly in the water area, which is unfortunately just catharsis water "aquarium needle", rather than more modern usage of water. As some others have said, the triggers aren't super interesting, though I do think they add a little bit of charm to the game.
The bosses are quite a bit easier than the needle, and I found them pretty fun. I thought the fish was a bit annoying at times, it had a tendency to make some really tough dodges, but otherwise I enjoyed them. The final boss was really charming, and some good fun. I didn't find the refreshing i-frames to be a real issue, though I did know about them in advance thanks to other reviews.
Overall, a good experience, and definitely a recommendation for people looking for adventure games that are sort of wonderful adjacent.
