But I have to say, this game has only one screen.

Most of the difficulty comes from things you just can't see. Brown spikes against brown tiles, blue spikes in water, ceilings above the screen, etc. I did get a kick out of the homegrown sound effects, though. Gave the game some charm.

Kicked the shit out of me. Lots of RNG and spamming for the bosses. And the FUCKING PENALTY ROOMS!!! Although to be fair, I didn't get burned by the penalty rooms too much.
During my last run, the game lagged due to an apparent Windows update with GMS 1.4 games. Apparently that doesn't happen if you run a patch tool on the game. I still think the game is good.
