A remake of I wanna be the Black. Adds a scrolling grid to almost every background, many screens are nerfed, a few traps are telegraphed, and block mazes are now made into gimmick screens where you "flash" the path forward into visibility a limited number of times. Bosses now have i-frames, but are otherwise pretty similar to their original forms. The colonel has checkpoints between phases now. There is a new final boss after the spike boss which is a long avoidance I had no interest in beating. I'm not sure why this was made or why you'd play this over the original black, but the absurdity of this paradoxically makes this interesting to me. Would only recommend if you're curious about it. No difficulty rating because I did not beat final avoidance.

The good definitely outweighs the bad. The platforming in the 80s is where it peaks; the previous water and infinite jump stages are the worst part of the game.
