Apparently this game was made in one month. I don't know how MattinJ did it but wow is this guy good.

This is a really high quality metroidvania-style fangame. You venture and backtrack throughout a small but well-designed map as you collect items which let you traverse deeper within them. The platforming is really fun and the factor of having health makes boss fights more enjoyable as well. The game isn't that short either, it's a solid one and a half to two hour long game if you don't try to rush beating it.
The humor of the game is also great, I feel like that is an aspect that should be acknowledged.

There was a part which hardlocked me. When you first become small, I tried to go back to the town and I ended up dying while saved between two of the grass blocks you cut with your sword. When I respawned, I was locked between them and was stuck being small. This led me to finding out a bug in the game, when you press New Game it doesn't actually start a new game, the chests reset but you are just sent back to the start with all your stuff. So I was stuck in the Kid's house and had to delete the Data file. This issue only cost me like 6 minutes of time so it was not a big deal but I am surprised it happened.

Either way, this is a really fun metroidvania-inspired fangame that is really well designed, some parts are better than others, but overall really well-made game, especially for a development time of a singular month.

Definitely not a normal fangame. This game doesn't really focus on platforming, rather it has a unique battling system where you fight enemies through usage of multiple weapons.
The battle system itself is really fun with your main weapon no longer being a gun, rather a trusty lightsaber, alongside other weapons which have cooldowns upon their uses. Pair this with some interesting bosses and it is a recipe for a really good and unique fangame.

My only gripes with this game is that the stages before the bosses play a bit awkwardly and can be just annoying, also having to wait until you stop attacking completely before turning around can be a hassle. Yes, being able to walk backwards and attack at the front is nice but turning faster would feel more smooth.

My only other complaint is that the game is too short (which may be more of a compliment to the game if anything). I'd like to see this formula pushed to its furthest, the idea of having to manage 6-7 weapons at once while fighting a boss sounds really fun to do and could lead to some crazy gameplay.

An interesting fangame that is very much inspired by Megaman. You get to choose which of 8 cherries to fight, you clear the stage and fight the boss, just like Megaman. You even have health so you don't die instantly which makes the enemies and weird obstacles more fair and the bosses more lenient.
I like the idea of this game, it just lacks polish and feels really janky. Some parts just feel messy and the gameplay can be pretty awkward at times with annoying enemy placements or platforming which just doesn't feel right.
The final area is especially troublesome as some sections are just not enjoyable to play.
Still, the rest of the game is well thought out, has some interesting gameplay mechanics including always being able to wall jump and being able to run. Also the final boss is just fun to fight.
Play this game if you want a Megaman-inspired fangame, it does that pretty well. Everything else is just fine.

I'm a sucker for fangames with stories no matter how simple they are so I already had a bias at the start and even though it was badly translated (Which honestly adds points for humor) I was a fan.
The start of the game is mainly just some platforming with gimmicks. I really liked Nobebo's area, using magic while platforming really gave a feeling of freedom if you could input the spells quickly enough. I played in free mode but the game is meant to give you a limited amount of deaths so it can feel more tense and add onto a certain feature shown later in the game.

There are 8 bosses in the game and while the first 4 are pretty well-designed and fun, the other 4 stand out. In the later 4 bosses, you fight against the "Deaths" where instead of taking damage, they add to your death count and heal. You get a defend button during these bosses and if you let go before getting hit, you get to parry which deals damage and removes all bullets on screen, it is really satisfying to pull off and made fighting them the highlight of this game to me.

Later in the game, it really seems to enjoy using some type of explosive cherry where they blow up when you get too close to them which forces a sort of paranoid platforming and it is fun but I feel like it gets a tad bit overdone.

I'm a pretty big fan of this game, it has a bunch of unique gimmicks, well-done platforming, fun bosses, and a story. My only gripe is that at the later parts of the game I wanted to fight the bosses so having to do platforming between each of them was annoying.

This game is pretty fun. You play as a little box fellow with a cool laser gun that gets upgraded throughout the game. The gimmicks mainly revolve around your gun and its upgrades but there are some other mechanics and traps throughout.
The platforming is fine, the different physics engine messed me up a lot as you are decently faster with a weaker jump but a stronger double jump. Also you fall somewhat slowly. The traps can get annoying but they are pretty well-designed.

Bosses are really well-made each being unique and really enjoyable to learn. Only exception is the final boss, not because it is badly made, but because it just lasts too long. There are three phases with the second one just taking up time so when you die at the third phase you have to redo the first two all over again. A checkpoint at the final phase along with it being harder would be really cool.

I like this game, it has its own unique charm. Still, it just feels like it drags on sometimes and made me get bored more often than I would like. It feels like there is a lack of direction in the level design. Besides that, it is a pretty solid game.
