I have a really big soft spot for this game because I think the vibe it has, the way it feels to get a good attempt, and the attack design conceptually, are all really really good. There is very much the outline of an iconic avoidance that would be beloved and go down as a classic, but unfortunately the RNG in this game is absolutely heinous. When you think of luck based Mikus you might think of Invincible Alien or Dop or Ruma and those games certainly have their moments but VCL is on another level, every bit of RNG in this game can give you some horrible situation you have no chance of surviving, so many attacks put you next to a spawner or summon lightning fast bullets, or in the case of the worst attack, the water one, give you basically no mobility or options to dodge an onslaught of aimed bullets. It makes for a game which is kinda mindless at times because no amount of skill can protect you from the worst this game has to offer. I still enjoy this game a lot, I have a lot of fun playing it, but I think a rebalanced version or reimagining has tons of potential, as is it's a kinda unfortunate game with a lot of awesome aspects.

This is an example of a game with good music and decently good mapping, followed by the worst rng in existence on basically every attack. The intro is whatever and is just there to pass time, but even there you can see what the avoidance is like. Starting from the first chorus is where you can see for the first time how careless some transitions are and unreactable, finishing with a funny fast burst. After you have an ok part with a few bad transitions, and there you get to reach water. Honestly, this section alone is the reason to not grind this, because it's actually 100% luck based. The only available dodges you have is to go right and fall or jump left and fall, both of which can be and WILL die to the rng most of the time. The funny part is that after you pass it you basically have a 90% chance to get to the spiral later in the avoidance, but before it, you have another pattern part where you have a circle that can shoot at random speed and with that making the pattern harder or easier. But anyway, again this is the easiest part, and you will most likely get to the spiral where you have very limited movement AND you have rng in the second half. If you survive it then good job, you are on the final stretch of the avoidance, starting with bouncing + platforms that you can't see, a few other luck attacks and patterns. Somehow this is the easiest part of the avoidance, at least it was the easiest to clear for the first time.
The screen turns black and you are on final. It's a lottery machine built inside the game, and this is the final luck check that you need to get through. Clear it, or you have to spend another few hours getting there AGAIN.
Overall: Play this if you have gambling addiction and decent taste in music.

edit: i originally rated this a 2 with like 3 hours of playing but jesus fucking christ im 25 hours in and im changing my rating to a 0, this might possibly be the worst grind ive ever gone through, please dont voluntarily go for trying to clear this, its genuinely not worth it
