Most fangame sequels tend to be better than the original, so even though I wasn't big on the first game in this series, I was somewhat optimistic going into this game. However, this is an exception to that initial statement. This game, while improving on some aspects of the original, brings in a five course meal of new problems.
For starters, the gameplay in regards to platforming is more interesting, as the game contains more gimmicks to spice up the gameplay. However, compared to the original, the number of traps has gone way up, and the quality of these traps has BARELY improved. Genuinely, my rating would go up by like 3 whole points if this game had no traps. They aren't fun, funny, interesting, or anything. They are all annoying especially since this game often throws you into a super long save and slaps you with a trap to waste as much of your time as possible.
Then come the bosses, where the game brings some general improvements, most of the bosses are better than anything in the first game, except for a 4 minute avoidance, which has become my new least favorite fangame boss as of writing this review. The major issue is difficulty balance, the avoidance contains so many nothing attacks where absolutely nothing of note is going on, and then final is very tricky with cherries that randomly jet across the screen or curve to absolutely shit on you. I died like 6 times to this final attack, and each time was infuriating. I can stomach a lot of avoidances people say are boring, such as LoveTrap Long Miku, K3 EX Dotkid, or SAN Flandre, in fact I like some of those fights. But this fight is so draining, it's like a succubus comes to steal your soul, but instead of awesome sex, they force you to sleep on a bed of rusty nails and occasionally wake you up by pushing you into the bed.
After the avoidance I was basically completely drained, I didn't have any energy to go through the massive final stage so I just began looking up every trap. Since the final stage combines all the gimmicks, it might be worth noting the bad apple stage has a horrible gimmick where you control a cube, which basically turns into the excursion/K3 bubble gimmick without anything that makes it fun or exciting. I'm massively disappointed by this game, I wanted to like it but I feel like it just does so many things I personally can't stand.

This game is mostly just boring, however the last two bosses are boring AND annoying. The destination boss is so hard to hit with zero visual feedback if you are even making progress, and the final boss is a mega snoozefest so every death sucks so bad. Outside of that I didn't really enjoy anything else in the game, it's just not for me I guess. Super basic trap platforming which isn't offensive but just...nothing. Definitely not worth sludging through but I've played worse.

Salt is a beginner adventure game which is very simple, although there's a decent amount to it. There's some secret items and mini secret stages to beat, and as such the game has quite a bit of content beyond just the any% clear. The main standout moment is Santipalt, which for this difficulty is a VERY long avoidance, and while it's not the most fun thing in the world, it's not horrible. Overall the game is slightly boring, but not really bad. It's decent.

This game is very clearly a NANG inspired game, and maybe on the surface, a ripoff. With that being said, the game takes big steps to isolate itself from the source material and truly develop it's own identity, mostly in far more experiment gimmicks than what NANG offers. This is absolutely to it's benefit, as some of the stages like the doppelganger and portal stages, while in my opinion much harder than the rest of the game, are super memorable. There's some areas where the game lacks polish, and there's quite a few weak or annoying saves, and the avoidance segment in stage 9/19 is the most boring thing in the universe, but that doesn't prevent the game from being a very solid needle game that is 100% worth checking out.

A game which consists of platforming stages made by a variety of people to be judged for a contest, that being the namesake of the game. It's no secret this game is very well polished and high quality, something apparent from the title and the gorgeous level select which feels like something right of a Kirby game. Overall the main 35 stages are quite good, especially once you get past the first third, there's just so much variety which makes the game very addicting. My personal favorites were from Pat, Anxkha, and Verve, but there's tons of highlights. There's also some original content, featuring medleyish stages combining stages of a particular tier, and also a final stage with it's own set of gimmicks, which might be my favorite thing in the game. The final boss is pretty neat, I think some reviews hype it up as a masterpiece but I didn't really get that, to me it was just a pretty good boss. Final phase however was very very cool, definitely the best part!
I didn't give this game a perfect score, but I would probably recommend it more than some of the games I've rated perfect 10s. The stuff you'd expect to be good is very good, and it more than outweighs the slightly weaker elements of the game, most of which are very frontloaded. A must play for sure.
