The game's title apparently you could approximately translate as 'I wanna I want to celebrate the friend's wife's birthday'. So you can guess to whom this game was made for. However, judging by different readme's, it seems like there were 2 versions of the game. One that received said friend's wife and other is who received this game second hand. The author references removing different backgrounds of copyrighted stuff and changing them to monochrome stuff. My guess is that there were some Disney characters, considering you can see stuff related to Winnie-the-Pooh (title screen ; one of the death screens ; bee-spike theme ; bees). The .exe of the game that I played had the date of 19/04/2012.
Author does acknowledge that the quality of the game is not the best, and I believe they do not even recommend trying the EX?
Yeah, this game does have an EX, and my rating is based on that.
Main game consists from several needle screens with traps. Near the end you have infinite jump gimmick, but other than that it is pretty straight forward. I found this extremely boring first time when I played it in 2022. Now I was kind of fine, although it is nothing great in particular - literally your standard restarting guy-rock fangame. However, you will recognize that this is made by 白いヒヨコ / 白いひよこ. 'I Wanna Be the Piyopiyo Trap' trigger presence is quite noticeable.
For any% my rating would be 4.8 and difficulty probably 26. The hardest thing are the sprites for the spikes. Those bee-sprites make it hard to understand where is your hitbox.
After you beat the game, you have to find 3 'secret' items, to light up 3 different candles. The game actually will give portals to teleport to the said rooms. And you can pretty easily collect those items.
The difficulty of the game does raise up for 100%. Any% definitely felt having abundance of saves. But on 100% you do have to play a bit to clear stuff. Some jumps are harder than others (the star section with infinite jump is probably the hardest and the most notable one). But I also found the gameplay to be more enjoyable. Yes, it is still pretty bland, but you do need to do something, and some rooms were funny (in any% there are also funny things, like the portal room, but such rooms were minority).
The final boss is your typical 2012 boss. You have funny chicken sprite (typical of this author), funny sprite of constantly moving fruits, RNG falling spikes, that you cannot predict, and as soon as you shoot, the aimed bullet gets targeted towards you. The boss does have quite a bit of HP as well.
I do recall struggling a bit 3 years ago, but now this boss did not feel as bad. You just need to carefully time the jumps. Although you can get unlucky with the spike spawns, that is for sure.
However, I did like this 2012 old aesthetics this time.
The game has funny sprites and some unique traps, as well as a lot of bland needle. So this game in itself would not be suggestion to play. However, I did not hate it as much as I did in the past. I initially wanted to give 4 as a rating. But I kind of felt that if you want some 'old classic' game style, then this is a good option for 20-30 minutes if you have an access to the game. Yet I do acknowledge that people looking for this kind of gameplay would be in a minority.
I do not hate this game (in fact, this is a sweet little birthday present back in the days), but I would not realistically recommend for general audience. You can look up my playthrough of the game on YouTube in any case.
