Hey! This is the (finally) finished version of the Shortventure game I made for the 2023 Shortventure Event!
I'll ramble a bit later, but included are a "solutions.txt" file and a "Cryptogram Solver" spreadsheet which will make a lot more sense once you get playing. ;)
The theme of the event was "resources", and while the in-game tie-in to the theme was.. a bit of a stretch, I also took the opportunity to look at the theme from a more meta standpoint and, for the most part (aside from the music which I pulled from purple-planet), all of the game's non-default resources (audio, sprites, backgrounds, etc) are all done by me! :D
It's quite a departure from my normal stuff, but I'm really proud of how it turned out. I realize it may not be for everyone, but as long as some people enjoy it, that's fine by me.

Hub based game with 4 disctincts stages. The trap stage was ok I guess, I'm really not receptive to that kind of humor but the trap design was decent, the chase stage is a bit weak and way shorter than the others, the tyson stage was by far the best both humor and gameplay wise and the puzzle stage was quite something. While I'm a big fan of puzzles in fangames, this is typically the kind that is way too cryptic if you don't immediatly get the logic behind it and even with the hint system some were very hard. Puzzles where you could apply any logic to it because nothing is explained or implicit have always been very hit or miss and it was mostly miss for me.
Overall fine, you will probably enjoy it more if you like random memes but even past that it has some pretty good parts.

As the first game that I've cleared from Racic, it was amazing. Overall it's a smooth journey although it has some frustrating parts such as final part of Mike Tyson area (I think?)
Now, the puzzles were great. There were moments when I felt as dumb as a stone, and had to check tips (and even after that the answer wasn't obvious). But the puzzles like "fangame terms", or "word table" turned out really enjoyable to solve!

Definitely my favorite game from this maker, the connection to the theme of the contest is a bit of stretch but you can easily ignore it in this full release and enjoy a couple nice stages with some great variety. The hub is also a highlight with all the enemies, woulda been great if there was a boss at the end to cap it off but it is what it is. Also not a fan of the trap design but I think that's a me thing at this point. Would "appreciate" more games in this style from you for sure!
