Pointillism is one of the most unique needle games ever made, at least in terms of presentation. You are set to explore a museum exhibition with lots of paintings, each containing a needle screen with dotkid needle. You can mostly clear the levels in any order, but some of them are locked at first and you can unlock new museum halls containing new levels by clearing a specific amount of levels, making the progression similar to something like SM64. You can also exit out of a level and your progress in the level will always be saved, which is something that I can't praise enough, and something that I wish more fangames could do. Each level also has a difficulty rating (which is actually accurate most of the time), making this more accessible to newer players.
This game also has a unique atmosphere. The soundtrack consists entirely of classical piano tracks, which fits the theme, although I feel like the Modernism hall could have something else. The visuals are definitely a highlight in this game. Each screen almost looks like a painting (no pun intended) with how much effort has been put into the structure of each screen looking super nice. Just look at the delfruit screenshots (especially screenshot 9).
The presentation and visuals are something truly special, and I really wish that I could give this game a 10, but there is a pretty big problem with the game: the gameplay. Kale once said that dotkid needle is very easy to make unique, but somehow most of the needle in this game just feels pretty generic. It always feels like it's just okay at best and really awkward at worst. There are also lots of low jumps in this game. Another problem with the game is the difficulty balance. It feels like the difficulty of every jump is pretty random, and there are lots of levels that are only hard because of one jump.
I feel like this game shines when it introduces gimmicks. Some of my favorite levels were Subversion Of Expectations, Butterfly Effect, and A Scrambled Path. I still had some issues with the needle in those levels, but they were actually engaging so it didn't matter to me as much. I also do think that some levels have pretty fun needle, especially in the Tower and Modernism halls.
I would definitely recommend at least trying this game out. It is super unique and charming, and there's lots of stuff to enjoy, even though I feel like this game could have more potential.

Didn't beat topi jump with shoot refresher and rocket kid needle, and they seem to be much harder than everything else.

Hi, I'm the creator.
Unfortunately, I didn't put my heart into creating this piece; to be precise, it was actually just a "joke."
You might notice that this game lacks any interesting mechanics; the textures, gameplay, and even the background music are terrible. Actually, that was intentional.
The reason for this is simply to highlight the flaws of the original game ("Party Animals" published by Recreate Games and sold for ¥98 on Steam), and to advise other players against purchasing it, as the game's developers and its overall atmosphere are not worth the price.
That's all. Don't play it, regarding this game, and also regarding "Party Animals" If you have already purchased it, I suggest you get a refund, because it's not worth it.
