I feel like the platforming is very well done with a lot of variety. The bosses, while not amazing are very average. I absolutely despise the final boss though and it completely burned me out on motivation to go for 100% of the game knowing I'd have to fight Biff again. Still the amount of content in this game is commendable, despite the oversights in pretty much any of the secrets and the final boss.

Screen transitions are awful and the end result makes up for nothing.

Good concept. Not repetitive enough to be boring and has quite fun traps, although it is not the main theme. It is more gimmick than anything. It really feels like playing an average game in a Gameboy. Platforming is ok, bosses are ok, platforming is its strongest part, I have already forgotten about how the soundtrack sounds, it's just the IDEA itself that works the strongest.
I would recommend it, but not for beginners, unless you are looking for a challenge. I found myself doing unnecessary corners often just to get through screens more quickly and Screen 47 (I think it was that one), where you can shoot the dark blue spikes, I passed "legit", it without shooting any of them just to test myself. Fun times again.
Also, a funny thing happened: While I was playing through screens 41 and 42, I remembered the factory section of I Wanna be the Guy with the Megaman-esque lasers before encountering Bowser & Co., and when I stumble upon Screen 43, the lasers appeared! IWBTG certainly drew its influence and only a couple of fangames have surpassed my rating for it. What an influence it drew back in 2008 until today!
Recommended? Ok, yeah...

Almost a 40 in difficulty (I rate in intervals of 5 points), but difficulty is also psychological, and I have to mimick what many have said, summarized well by Notevenamatuer: it is a beautiful, relaxing game. So, paradoxically, this is not, in my opinion, a beginner-friendly game at all: It requires previous needle experience and is a nice recommendation for players that have gathered previous experience and want to be introduced at the capabilities of the Dotkid physics before venturing into the expert of the subject: Thenader2. But the whole environment, music and visual design make the experience extremely enjoyable, making you think it is easier than your final death count.
I wasn't a fan of the avoidance segments at all (the idea is neat but I found it, quite frankly, very ugly and dissonant), but I find a high replay value in here.
I already have the perfect music choice for my next romantic dinner. So please, God, grant me my significant other!

The game is fun, but oh my god does the difficulty rise to insanity in the end.
I was enjoying the game up until world 5 where the difficulty starts to get to me. It features a lot of really precise platforming, while not innovating on anything else. After failing multiple times, I started to get angry. I wanted to reach the boss, since I like avoidance, but this was going to take forever. Then I did it.
Like an absolute madlad, I opened up bandicam, turned on lock framerate and prayed to god for forgiveness. With 20 FPS and the game running less than half as fast as it should have, I managed to reach the final save. Then I spent about an hour and a half trying to beat that, ending in rage quitting after choking on the 16 pixel spike gap at the end.
Then a month later, I returned, eager to try again, and I got through it in 20 minutes. I'm still trying to beat the avoidance.
I think the game has it's strength and weaknesses. The needle issometimes fun, but it becomes a lot more frustrating and tedious in the end. Maybe I'm just bad at these games, but there's nothing making me want to go through the levels, no interesting mechanics or gimmicks and the level design isn't good enough to compensate for that.
The last save is a special offender since it's basically just one very precise jump that really ruins my experience with the game. It's really not fun, and the game would a lot better, if it were replaced with something else.
The only reason I continued with the game was to experience the avoidance part of the game, which is good. The fight is really long and filled with learn heavy patterns and stupid RNG, but besides that, it was really fun and looked great as well. It's one of the better avoidance bosses I've seen. There seems to be a lot of care put into it and I wasn't disappointed when I finally reached it.
The game has a lot of inconsistensy in terms of it's look, the first couple of stages look awful and bland, but stage 5 and 6 have some really nice effects and great music. It almost feels like a medley game with all the different art styles and I don't think it compliments the game.

Extremely difficult needle game, the second hardest I've beaten, hardest being discord makers. I would say this was harder than any single area in that game, but also much more fun to grind.
There are many things I really like about this game. The visuals are really nice, music choice is fine, although I ended up listening to my own after 10 hours or so.
What I find most imortant is the level design though, which is absolutely outstanding, pretty much exactly what I would want from a needle game. There is only one jump I don't like (3rd screen first save vine), which is really amazing for such a hard game. It is mostly made up of long jump sequences with water, platform jumps and a few vines. The difficulty curve is good too, starts out very hard and keeps getting harder, with the exception of one easy(er) save. The last save is the hardest by a lot, and if you choke a lot like me, most of your time will be spent on it. Beating any save in this game feels really satisfying, especially the final one.
The biggest problem with the game is the extreme difficulty rendering it unplayable to most people.
Also I wish it had a more serious\better sounding title. At one point there is a pretty dumb align troll, but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter.
I would recommend this only to very confident needle players. It is one of my personal favorites, but definitely isn't for most people.
