After 2 years with Aug/Sept 2024 being the point I started to take the K3 grind more seriously, I finally done it. I beat I wanna kill the Kamilia 3.
K3 was among the earliest fangames I ever knew ever since I first stumbled across them in 2016. I did play it briefly a little later when I started playing fangames. First getting stuck at the first CtB screen with the Diamond (classic) then passing it and then fizzling out at CtB 3's Secret Entrance (Real ones remember the infamous T Bone Jump). I did plan on doing a K3 playthrough 1 year after starting fangames but I fell out of them months before it happened and never came back in the years since.
Between middle of 2016 to me starting my current playthrough back then, a lot has changed for the game. We got the advent of Extra near the end of 2016 along with nerfs made to the any% in favor of moving the og difficulty plus harder stuff newly added into Extra and optional content instead. Not to mention when I recently beaten Boss 2, v2.0 came out with the largest content addition since Extra was first added.
No other game has truly pushed me to my limit on my fangame skill and kept my attention and commitment to keep going. Even when I was at my most pessimistic on parts like Piano, Rukito, Final Boss and many other walls, I still kept going.
K3 of course is far from perfect with certain screens, needle and boss attacks not vibing with me much, but I wouldn't be playing all the way to the end if I actively hated the game. K3 will hold a special place for me as it is my proudest milestone as a veteran player and other veterans must be proud of achieving too should they choose to take on this challenge.
