Emmanating
With all these gimmick, trap, and cute puzzle games releasing for secret santa this year, I felt such elation seeing the word "Needle" in the title. "Finally" I thought, rushing to download the game "It's no avoidance but It'll have to do". But as quickly as those hopes rose, when I launched the game they all came crashing down. It's not needle :(

There's tons of variety in this game considering it's just four sections, they are completely different and while some aren't all that in depth like teleporting around Xynchrome randomly, it's really fun. The highlight is probably the crossword, super cute idea.

Fantastic little variety package, tons of nice production touches and silly ideas come together to make a much more engaging experience because its not just needle.

Fruitless
A short fangame made for pieceofcheese87 in the 2021 Secret Santa event. It has 4 segments that get chosen in a random order, none of which contain any needle, as the title suggests.
-The first one I got is the laser puzzle, where you redirect mirrors to aim lasers into the targets. It's mostly solveable by working backwards from where the targets are, until the very end which requires you to re-aim a mirror you can jump just barely high enough to reach. This one stumped me for a bit, since it wasn't obvious you could do that.
-Next is a crossword puzzle, containing a bunch of references to in-jokes of the OFR. Obviously this makes it harder for everyone else, so he just gives you the solution in the folder. It was still fun to try to figure out the answers without that though.
-After that is...needle? It's just Xynchrome* but with Bifficult spikes, but luckily you don't have to play it, since the spikes disappear and teleport you all over the room when you touch them. A bit of an unexpected screen, but it's like the title says, It's Not Needle!
-Finally is the Zinger tower, where you rise up a tower full of the aforementioned bees. The timing can be a bit tight, on top of the weird hitboxes of the Zingers. Once you learn that, though, it's easy enough.
I was honestly second-guessing myself on whether to consider this a favorite or not, since it's so short and easy. However, after thinking about it, the accessibility works in its favor, plus the production value is impressive, especially for something made in less than 4 weeks. So yeah, I'd say it deserves this status after all. Recommended for people that like gimmick games, or just hate needle.
