One of the most enjoyable vanilla needle games I've played in a while. It uses a plain colored tileset which allows for strong design choices in both aesthetics and level routing. Most screens have an aesthetic commitment which results in interesting consequences for jumps and execution. There's a strong reliance on unnamed jumps while retaining some basic principles. Later on the game features more traditional corners and diagonals, but it allows for and almost demands usage of setups, which make the jumps a lot less intimidating. There's a concept of something like 'authorial trust', that essentially means the more an artist demonstrates their sensibilities and concern for your experience early on, the more willing you'll be later on to take risks or tolerate experimentation, because they've built up a type of 'credit' with you. This game does that very well, to the extent that I feel it's almost trying to 'teach' you something, which would perfectly fit the title of the game. The clear screen, as mentioned, is NSFW, but the music is banging, and it almost seems intended directly as a reward—like, once you've conquered these needle screens and learned their concepts, you've 'grown up' and are no longer a child. That's a lot of reading into an abstract premise for a game just about moving through spikes, but that's kind of the whole exercise of needle in general, isn't it?
Either way, absolute banger, and would recommend to everyone. Actually not as hard as it seems due to very well-crafted setup implementation.

A wonderful introduction to butterfly-needle concepts and jump types without being overly strenuous in any one area. I did struggle a lot with the water section on the second screen, but I think that's because I assumed it wasn't refreshing water when it actually was. If anything, like many dono games, this runs the risk of potentially being too easy, but in that way, it was a super enjoyable experience for me, and a great potential first entry for anyone curious about the 'butterfly-like' genre without being talented or patient enough to surmount its usual difficulty barrier. Song was pretty boppin, but didn't necessarily give the feel of 'outer space mysticism' that would have accompanied the visuals and style. Either way, a fun little romp. The large screens felt more fun to me than the single jumps.

very cool, but the saves are very hit or miss. Mostly good saves so not a bad game!
