Based on 100 % clear. YoYo definitely did his homework right, there is big step in quality in comparison to Salt. Levels are way more interestingly designed (especially i liked stage with ground touching control), as well bosses are way more engaging. However, i wouldn't say this game is perfect. Traps are still a bit annoying, especially considering how often they are at the end of the saves. Secrets are pain in ass to find out, YoYo is always merciless when it's about secrets (even tho content of secrets is usually nice). Also extra stage is very long save, which was okay for me, but can be troublesome in general. Extra boss however was probably the best part of the game and was worth it, extra avoidance was also good, reminds me of Dagger works. So, all in all, likeable game, recommendable as well. Not perfect, but like very good

If you just want normal clear, it should be about 40 difficulty.
I really like this adventure game, especially the EX avoidance.
But the EX boss is a little bit annoying.
Recommend for everyone who like to play the adventure game.

Where Salt is a game that is brought down by it's simplistic nature, Sugar is one which feels enhanced by it. Obviously I love over the top gimmicks, mechanics, boss fights, ridiculous needle, but I think Sugar is a game which really reels all that in, and instead provides simplistic, core fangame gameplay that is just solid. The stages consistent of their gimmicks with a healthy mix of traps, never feeling overbearing or obnoxious. Some of the gimmicks are quite fun or at least interesting, I particularly liked the mechanics in stage 4 and 5, as they felt the most in depth and rich. The bosses are pretty good too, I think the true final boss is probably the best one, but they are all good and fun fights, again, being quite simple! Overall I think if you don't mind a more traditional experience, sugar is an easy recommendation.
