If you're going to beat the avoidance in-game, I highly recommend to play on original (at least on 10HP), because the easy mode is heavily nerfed, being another galaxy type of level.

The game certainly has a lot of variety, and that likely means there will be some stuff you will like, and other stuff you won't like as much. However, it's clear how much effort Dagger put into making the game the best it could be, having been made over such a long time period. If you're willing to put up with stuff you don't enjoy, and can still enjoy the rest of the game, I'd suggest to play this, and don't be afraid to switch to easy mode if you feel you really need it.
