The first fangame I've been able to clear in ~4 years. Thank you the creator for providing me with the opportunity and making me relive some old memories. A work of genius

Experimental fangame made using just a simple .png. The game has readme that indicates the rules for the game. You do have a win condition explained.

It is pretty easy to understand what the author was going for - you have a very easy maze, that you can go through in like less than a minute.

However, as this is a conceptual game, there is lack of additional rules, and thus you can really do whatever you wanna.

The game has .mp3 file, but the instruction do not tell you to turn it on. You can interpret it as just something that is in the folder and is not related to the 'game'. Or you can turn on the audio file when you started the game.

The game does not tell what is the losing condition or what you cannot do there. That way you can just 'go' around the maze and still get to the end.

But, here is a thing: we can be meticulous and say that the author did not mention what exactly is this maze. You can imagine that you 'control' the kid and just do this whole thing as some simple task in a children's book. But who said that we control the kid? The starting point is slightly to the right from the kid. What if we this .png needs to be printed out, just like Canus drawn it, and we need to place a physical 3 dimensional object on the 'Start place'? We do not have any information about collisions, so we can just move our space towards the end in a straight line - after all that is just an image and our physical object is not gonna be blocked.

Or even better - who said how we are moving? Maybe we can just teleport (if this is 2D game) or just move the physical object to the end position (imagine this like chess), which would be the same thing. Who said how we should escape the maze?

Author put the mention of the additional rule 'You may not read the final sentence on the image until you have cleared the game.'. So he could have put additional info about losing condition.

Most of the games have some kind of losing condition, and the absence of it and the absence of any real rules makes this just every person's individual interpretation of the game. Sure, this game has re-playability possibility because of that. But I would not call it good because of that.

I do understand what author was intending, but if you give such a highly experimental game, then I will have high standard on how it is executed.

It is cool seeing unusual games, but this one is lazy. My rating is just for the concept. Other than that, this game won't provide you anything worth a while. You might get some laughs, but you also might be frustrated or just confused, as it can be seen from completely polar reviews.

If this game's concept would have been fleshed out, I would give higher rating, but as it stands, the execution lacks and the actual 'gameplay' is just meh.

Yes, I might be a bit too serious for such a game. But a lot of avant-garde art - be it visual art or music - do tend to be very meticulous. For example, allea (randomness) aspect in music often-times gets heavily controlled to achieve better (closer to original intentions) results. If you want a musician to perform something chaotic, you would not want them to just perform C major scale, just because it technically can be done. Otherwise you will have frustrating situation that experienced Karlheinz Stockhausen.

It is phenomenal seeing the 'different' kind of execution of an art. It does not feel lazy most of the times. There are concepts, that are really incredible on their own. Maybe it will seem as nothing special, but the fact how much time the creator will take to just make something work in a certain way is definitely worth mentioning and being inspired form.

However, this game is far from that, in my opinion, and so there is a room for improvement. There is certain potential, and I hope that this is not the end of extreme avant-garde fangames. Let's say, that this is interesting as a proof of concept rather than fully fledged avant-garde fangame.

Due to all of this, I would not recommend this game.
