100 Trials is one of those games that is repeatedly brought up as a beginner recommendation for some godforsaken reason. The game is really bland, with the early floors being so easy I would struggle to imagine them being a challenge for someone who's never played a platformer before.
The difficulty ramps up steadily, and some gimmicks begin to be introduced. I thought the gimmicky parts in the middle were actually pretty good, and wish the rest of the game were similar.
The main issue with the game is the bosses, they are all far too long. For the early bosses, this makes them completely free wastes of time due to the low difficulty. Later on, we have the infamous floor 80 boss, which is a massive difficulty spike while also being really unfun. The final boss is arguably worse, it has an incredibly slow and boring intro, and then a second phase that could be fun if you didn't have to loop the attacks 3+ times.
The last 20 floors are also significantly harder, and become somewhat unreasonable for a lot of beginners. The medley section is pretty hard, and has pretty unpleasant picks. The final stage is more interesting, but the difficulty issue remains.
Overall, I would not recommend this to anyone, much less a beginner.

I don't really know what to say that has not been said already. This is a very good fangame to those who are either a beginner to fangames or those who just want to go on a casual experience. It is 100 floors of easy needles with a boss fight every 25 floors. The last two bosses can give you some trouble if you are not good at pattern recognition and bullet dodging like I am.
Overall, really solid fangame that's a good gateway for beginners. There's easier fangames out there but this one has the highest production value of them currently.

Very simple 100 floors game, it's not the best, It's a bit repetitive as many easy 100f games are and the bosses (especially the final boss) are a bit dull. It's far from bad but far from anything great, it's just simple and junk food.

Probably, at least to my knowledge, the perfect first fangame. The difficulty curve is pretty much perfect, with the last 20 floors being surprisingly brutal, but it's almost never annoying or anything like that because each floor stays fresh and exciting with unique ideas that are executed beautifully. I think there are like 5 floors that I actually didn't enjoy, but the rest of them are a blast. The bosses are fine as well, but they are my least favorite part of the game, most of the enjoyment that I get out of this game comes from the platforming. Absolutely incredible game, and I couldn't recommend it enough.
