For: I wanna be the 共食い
Here is what you need to do in this game:
1. Find the correct portal to start the game.
2. Kill the kid that mirrors what you do.
The first step is pretty easy and straightforward. Won't take that much.
The second step is a bit confusing if you do this game blind. I was not sure for like a minute on what I should do. You cannot outsmart the mirror-kid once you started moving.
However, the point is that when you start the boss, the other kid is not facing against you but in the opposite direction.
This, literally, means that you need to press shoot button 4 times and then go to the right.
A bit anti-climactic. I mean, I like the typical song choice of this author, but that is it.
It is a bit clever, but I cannot compliment this game much more than that.
It feels more like a puzzle rather than a boss if you ask me.
Meh.
Would not recommend.
P.S. The title of the readme '私を読んで┌(┌^o^)┐.txt' is cute, I have to say.
For: I wanna beat the Voodoo Jump
The game provides you an option of 'a d', and even tells you about it in the readme. And you would think that it is required if you read some review. But as Zorgo points out - it is not obligatory.
I was confused on what to do. I read beforehand reviews, so I tried to click on D and jump in the same time. It did not work.
So I tried to use conveniently placed platform. Somehow after few tries I did the jump. It took me less than a minute in game time. I knew that I just got lucky. So I tried to do it, again.
Now, every time I tried to do it, I just barely could not land on the block.
So after 5 more minutes I looked up for the videos, and I found Zorgo's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WW0e1XizOO4
This is pretty much my experience on my 2nd playthrough. After I watched Zorgo's video I managed to do this jump 2nd time.
I am still not sure how it works, but I do not think that it is as easy as people point it out to be.
It won't take much, but I think beginner players will struggle if they are gonna try this game out just because of the low rating. It is still easy enough, but it is not just plainly 'easy'.
I have no clues on how hard it is in one-jump scale, so I might be a bit over-rating this jump.
As for the actual rating, I do not think it was the worst jump to do, considering author placing you on the edge of the block and giving 'a d' option (even if I am not sure why I needed that). Also I am disappointed that there is no save on the clear screen.
It is still not a good game.
So yeah, I would not recommend, anyway.
Update 23/05/2025:
The author of the game gave some insight on this game. They basically made this game in about 20 minutes, and did not realize that it is possible to beat the game without A-D. You were supposed to do a-d while touching a platform, thus, doing d-trick platform jump. I am not gonna change my rating, but that is surely a bit amusing.
For: I wanna be the BBB-B・B-BB
And the gameplay itself does not compliment much. Everything is in Japanese, and the boss does have quite a bit of HP, although you have several options on how to shoot the boss. I recommend moving in circles for the optimal damage. It will take boss much easier and much shorter. I initially have beaten only by standing down and shooting to the spike, and it is much harder. The hair does not instantly kill you. It is a weird mix of RNG and aiming, and you have plenty of time to stay on the upper platforms and do significant damage. However, after you beat the boss, you are still in the same room, just that you have additional Japanese text. All you can do then is to die to the spike.
Now, I do not know Japanese and I cannot fully understand what the author tried even to write, so I had to ask AI to transcribe and to give approximate translation. For what I can understand, the loading screen does tell you that it is possible to check the audio volume, and in the end you get 'Congratulations' text shown.
As for the rest, here is what you need to know:
- The game's title 'I wanna be the BBB-B・B-BB' is not accidental. It is based on the source material for this game 'ボボボーボ・ボーボボ' - manga and anime series, that in English is called 'Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo'. In this series you have a main character that fights with his nose hair. Yes, it is bizarre, but you can read more about these series here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobobo-bo_Bo-bobo.
- The game's song might seem weird, but it is actually Opening 2 from the anime, that I mentioned before. The song's title is 'Baka Survivor'.
- The game's readme is very odd. The original text is as following:
'ネタ3発目
悪ふざけがすぎた王
さーせん
ボツにした気持ちでいっぱいです'
I could not understand even with translator the meaning, because it does use slang terms. I will just leave what the AI gave me when I asked about this Readme:
'Summary:
The reviewer (likely the creator themselves or someone being playful) is jokingly reflecting on their own game. They’re saying:
"Here’s the third joke [game]. I (the king) took the joke way too far. Sorry! Honestly, I feel like this should’ve been scrapped."
The tone is comedic and self-deprecating, fitting the absurd and over-the-top style of games that parody anime like Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo or troll-platformers like I Wanna Be the Guy.'
Now AI thinks that probably there were 3 joke games in total, but I am not sure if it is actually the case, and if it is, then I am not fully sure what were the series.
I initially wanted to give this game like low 2 rating and high 20s difficulty. But then I have re-beaten the game, and now I kind of appreciate this game a bit more, and it is much easier if you do not stay just at the bottom of the screen.
This game still does not provide much, and even to appreciate it even a little bit, you need to make a little bit of research, if you are not manga or anime expert.
It is whimsical, and definitely not something you will see often. But it is still a bit of a lazy game, and can be a bit boring with the high amount of given HP.
Not the worst thing ever, but definitely far from being the best.
As for the difficulty, I might be a bit underrating after my 2nd clear, so I do not know.
Would not recommend, anyway.
For: natto
First of all, author of this game provided only .exe of the game, and did not provide necessary parts of the engine with the sounds. However, judging by the errors, it was not anything useful, just the standard engine stuff. I am not sure which engine this is though. I thought renex's but now I am unsure.
To get rid of this error, please click immediately on the 'Abort' button. It won't close the game, but will proceed instead. Yes, the game will be muted, but this is author's issue.
The game is simply called after Japanese fermented soybean dish, which also happens to be a slang term in fangame community for an 'invert' jump, coming back from 2010.
And... this game's contents you can see in the screenshot. You have to beat 2 inverts in a row. Weird blurry food image in the background ; weird block design, and weird additional unrelated spikes ; the Chinese text that says '要吐了', which is literally meaning the same as the English text '(about) to throw up'. Also I do not know what is that weird block structure after the first jump. It does not have any collisions.
After that you get a very weird clear screen, where you see big Chinese bad hand-written symbols and very small English text that says 'natto is unpalatable'. I have no idea what symbols author tried to write, so I asked ChatGPT to transcribe, and it got the result '納豆真難吃', which would roughly translate as 'Natto tastes awful', or something like that. I guess that matched the English text.
Also why the hell is on chopsticks written 'it like semen' ????????
The only reason I am not giving this 0.0, is because at the very least author tried to reference something here.
As for difficulty I do not know. I think doing 2 inverts is not necessarily easy, even if I did it in 5 minutes. Luckily you can immediately try out the jump, and also you do not have to do other kind of jumps, so you can work out on your muscle memory. But also this game does require good enough keyboard for invert jumps. All things considered, I might be actually underrating this game, so keep in mind that.
Anyway, there are so many things wrong in this game. The game is broken, can make you feel a bit dizzy, is a bit disrespectful in itself, not funny in the slightest and gameplay wise it is just simply annoying, and has nothing redeeming in itself.
Don't play this.
Highly would not recommend.
For: I wanna jump under a block
I am not exactly sure how this works, but you need to take an align from the moving platform, not touch any walls, and then you will be able to go under the block and land on the other side with an ease.
I have cleared the game 3 times, and I did not manage to do the jump without the use of the platform. However, as soon as I tried to jump inside the platform, I could beat the game very quickly.
For one-jump game it definitely made me think for a second what to do, and it is a bit satisfying to pull of the jump for some reason.
Not necessarily the game you should try, but among one-jump games this one is fairly easy. Beaten in 8 attempts.
Anyway, there is not anything else, so the experience is short-lived. So, yeah, I would not recommend.
