For: I wanna be Time Characters
Collectathon fangame, heavily inspired of 'I wanna be a Charr' (that author was grinding at the time, as far as I know), being released several times in the time period of 2012-2013. It was one of the last 10 fangames that ヨーヨー ever made, and surprisingly it was barely known for years, having very few videos and playthroughs of it until recent years.
Your goal is to collect as many 'Time characters' as possible. You have a lot of stages to choose, but if you want to clear the game on any%, then you have to meet 2 requirements: get 50 items to enter 2nd hub, and get 80 items to access the final stage. However, if you want to have 100% credits, then you really have to get all 100 items in one go.
Game gives you several possibilities to access items easier:
a) Press 'W' on any save and you will get to the beginning of the stage (if you entered some stage then you have to beat it to get back to the main hub).
b) Enter Blue portals to see the items you got from any stage.
c) Enter Red portals to get to the main hub.
Everything else is up to your research. A lot of items are easy to guess how to get. Some stages you have to rebeat to get all items, and then you have certain amount of items that are really obscure.
Game is basically Needle game with few Gimmicks thrown around, and 1 secret avoidance and final boss.
The main stages have Restarting guy-rock. However, once you get until the final stage, you will have non-restarting music. So we have something like in Dagger's game, where restarting guy-rock is an aesthetic choice.
All items and enemies are drawn by author themselves, which is really cool stuff. Seeing so many unique designs is a nice touch to the game, as well as audio effects when you collect stuff.
The platforming stages have both interesting and generic moments thrown in. It is interesting exploring the map and different gimmicks, but it is only interesting until you get stuck somewhere, because then you will get annoyed by the whole process. The difficulty is not very high, and in reality the hardest parts are 'Picopico' sections (in particular white stage) ; the save reminding of love-trap screen from Kamilia 2 and Casino character.
Picopico in particular is frustrating since you do not even have 'guy-rock', you just have 'beeping' sounds. The gimmick of the stage is interesting, but the white stage is a bit tedious, since you have to do 2 jumps, where you have to stand on the very edge of the block and do full jump, by pressing jump key and right key in the same time. It is fine, but it is not the most entertaining thing to do.
Lovetrap-like is interesting conceptually, but getting to try the hardest part takes a long time, so it gets annoying real quick.
And casino save is horrendous. You have like 1/7776 chance of getting 6 fruits the same colour. Yes, you can get 2 or 3 spins per second, but I had more than 9k spins in the end. It is not fun, and it gets annoying real quick, especially since you do not have auto-fire built in the game. I am not sure what author was thinking there.
I want to make special shoutout to the speed gimmick stage, where one of your secrets can be gotten if you do not press right. I thought it would be annoying, but 'W' key practice did help a lot and the stage was structure really in a clever way. It was probably the best stage in the game, and I enjoyed it.
Final stage surprisingly did not feel as hard as I was warned. You have a lot of saves on 'Medium', and the difficulty is very reasonable.
There were some more tedious jumps like diamond drop save, which requires specific strat, as well as others. But one of the things I noticed was that this game was plagued with the high amount of generic jumps, which made experience easier, but also left a feeling of emptiness.
I liked some things, but I knew very well, that I liked the experience as long as I did not have to grind something. Because then that is the moment when you feel frustration. Very few things are fun to grind, and the overall generic nature of the game does not help at all.
The avoidance was actually to me, although I know that some people hate it a lot. The RNG is questionable and I can see getting stuck. I personally could read really well, so I have beaten it in like 10 minutes, and it did not make me feel annoyed. However, it is your standard avoidance from early 2010s. Pattern blue attack was a bit original but that is it. Although I do want to note that avoidance has auto-save function, which was a surprise to see for such an old Japanese game.
Well, and then you have final boss, which is straight up horrendous. You have to wait 2-3 seconds in the start, then you can get a wall in your face if you are unlucky. And then you preferably have to be lucky with everything. Boss chooses random angle to go to. You really need to have vertical angle, and it is preferable that boss gets stuck on one side, so that you do not have to change sides too often, because it is too chaotic to do anything, unless you have a skill to react to everything. Every attack is randomly chosen, and you have easy aimings, as well straight vertical or horizontal fruit streams. It is readable, but the difficulty is just changing every other attempt. And if you do not have enough skill to read everything, then you will struggle a lot, because in the end boss starts to shoot RNG fruits constantly and the density is gonna higher up immediately. You also have time limit to clear boss, which is also giving additional hassle.
This boss is the exact reason why this game won't be beaten on 'Impossible' mode. You just have to be extremely lucky to first try this. Even if you have enough skill to beat every situation, horizontal angle of the boss is just unreasonable to play.
I do not want to say that the boss was too 'unfair', because theoretically situations where possible, but you have to predict everything and the boss does not have constant difficulty level, which is also why I am struggling to rate the difficulty of this game. Without final boss I would give this game like 51 difficulty, and even then that is just for the avoidance, and 'Picopico'.
Oh, and then you have credits, which suddenly have production value, and I think you cannot re-access them as well. Great content.
All in all, this game is very flawed. It has potential to be good, but it relies on the experience level of the player. The game does not provide much of value, and while the game got more famous nowadays, I would still not call this game 'good'. It is decent at the best. I appreciate the effort, both in character design, and for some secrets, but I think this game would need a remake to be considered good. Also I am not sure how fun it is to search for the secrets, since some of them are really obscure.
I do not really get the appeal here, and the bad parts like final boss and casino character really brings the quality down for me. You can try the game if you like the old type of adventure games, but that is it. However, I do not think that the provided content of this game is worth of your grind. Just watch IGINLAJ's 100% speedrun and I think that is gonna be enough to understand the concept here.
Would not recommend.

Review includes some spoilers!
It is simple but I enjoyed it a lot. As I understood, the premise was not using any spikes in the game, which resulted in some particular design choices. And it was fairly well-made.
It had several humour elements, unusual platforming using platforms and unusual sprites (so it is not needle, but you got the point), even few traps.
First 2 challenges are the hardest, and mainly because of platforms and non-needle design which requires some time to get used to if you are not needle player. It was not necessarily the best thing I have seen, but it was not bad.
I really like 3rd challenge being avoidance. It is simplistic but has gimmicks and unusual development ways. It is really cool. I did not expect few of those gimmicks at all, and reference with piano made sense if you look on og MV which is based on Simpsons.
Also the post-avoidance stuff was pretty funny as well!
The cool addition was true ending in the last room - I appreciated reading the timeline of the game. It made game feel more 'real', I guess?
If you wanna small whimsical experience, then this would be game for you. You can beat it in like 20-30 minutes, if not even faster.
Would strongly recommend.
For: I wanna remake my mental
Similarly like 'I wanna remake the Evan', this game was supposed to be a remake to Leehe's work 'I Wanna Keep My Mental'. You have difficulty options for different HP settings and etc. I have beaten on Normal mode which gives you 20 HP, which allows you to beat stuff pretty easily.
Game only has the iconic Miku avoidance (thanks to Happil 2) and even that is only half-finished, missing 2 minutes of content. And if you wait until the end you won't get the portal to get back.
I have not played original Leehe's work, and the amount of HP really allows you to make mistakes everywhere. I have beaten with 1 HP left, and the hardest thing was probably getting through Gravitron part and through bunch of instagibs that game throws at you in the beginning. Even then you also have a lot of easy attacks in the mix. Not sure if it was Leehe's balance or not.

It is also funny how the game has v1.0 written on title screen, although this game is actually having version 0.1.
The concept of this game is interesting, but it is really not worth it of trying, game exists as a concept, and probably will never be finished as well. You can play for like 10 minutes and you will hardly learn anything in the process. I appreciate that author published game on their blog, but that is it.
Watch the video and try something else.

You have some man instead of Colonel, some generic attacks inspired by Kamilia 3 Colonel and 'Detos' meme attack.
Structure of the game is simple: Avoidance, platform and then spinning portal that gets closer and closer to the kid, after what you have a clear screen with some Klazen's quote.
Here is the video of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkGHeU6Wv4A
I have asked author of the game about the context for this game, so I will quote them to make this whole thing less confusing for people:
"it was a silly inside joke, haha. klazen had done some technical training videos for his job, and he shared a picture of that person who was in the videos. and I thought it looked like the colonel or something, the way the video was laid out
and detos was some other inside joke at the time. like the dots/"dets" that taisa bosses sometimes shoot
I just felt like making a funny game that day"
Avoidance itself is not meant to be beaten, so this game exists as a showcase, basically for friends. Not meant to be something special or outstanding, really.
So, meh. It is interesting piece of the past, but that is it. Just watch my video and move on.

For: A Cherry Present
As you can probably guess - this is a birthday gift by Neos. It was made in 4 days and is dedicated to Mauricio_Juega_IWBT.
Game itself is a reimagination of Lovegood's avoidance from 'I wanna kill the Mauri' (which is more known being used in 'I wanna kill the Lovegood'), which in itself was a game for Mauricio, from what I can tell.
Neos version is easier and has completely different look on the 'Spectrum' song as well reimagining visuals and attacks. At some points it manages to do it really well, and on the others you kind of question the choices. The platforming section is way harder than everything before, and some patterns might be tricky. Intro in itself is quite slow, but it fits kinda with the song itself.
In the very end you will see title screen of Mauricio's games and 'Happy Birthday'. After that there is a small Bonus in Spanish, which has some joke, but I am not sure what is the joke exactly.
Anyway, the game is unreleased, and is not very hard. It is not outstanding but as a gift I do appreciate it.
I would not necessarily recommend it, since the balance and overall aesthetic balance could be done better, but it is still a unique experience for 10-20 minutes. For 4 day project, it is understandable that it is not excellent. For what it is I would definitely appreciate this kind of present, honestly. Also I liked the title, since 'Cherry' is literally part of Mauricio's avatar. Really smart.
