For: I wanna be the colorful life
This is very nice, pretty long and pretty old chinese game. It consists itself from 8 different stages, however to unlock last stage, you have to beat other 7 stages in any order you want.
Stage 1 is pretty long (~ 5 minutes) avoidance, which was also used in the boss rush of I wanna kill the Bric . If we talk about avoidance, then I can say, that in my opinion it is the best part of the game. Avoidance is pretty easy to get into, but it also have very nice sync with music, interesting to learn patterns and very nice attacks at all and for me very nice background, however I know, that a lot of people hate this background, because for them blue and white background hurts their eyes, but again, for me everything was ok in this case, and I really had ton of fun in this avoidance, which is surprised me, since I didn’t waited to have such fun with avoidance! Maybe I would only wanted from avoidance, that, first, it wouldn’t be like in the first stage, because it is pretty strange to have only one avoidance in the whole game, which is in the beginning of the game (if it would be in the end of the game, it would be really awesome!), second, that there would be less attacks, where you just stay in front of wall, and, third, for one of the figures in the middle of the avoidance, I would put less speed of the rotation, but those are just details, but whole concept of avoidance was very good and fun to play too. With that said, this is very cute and awesome avoidance, which gives high advantage to the whole game.
Stage 2 is stage, which have basic needle, without any really special jumps, but also it haves relaxing music and okay tileset. Only disadvantage is, that music for some stages glitch out, which means, that it doesn’t restart, and you have to go to the title screen and rego to your savefile, after what, you can hear relaxing music once again.
Stage 3 is basically trapland, which actually creator made pretty well (better than needle stage), because traps was fun to find and learn how to avoid them. Stage has very suitable music and overall very fun to play!
Stage 4 is boss stage. This boss is delicious-fruit, which have 8 different attacks (every attack, have its color of the rainbow), from which some are pattern based (like lightblue attack) and some can have pretty bad RNG (like red or yellow attack). Boss have fair ammount of HP, and if you kill him, then boss doesn’t end, because after that it have one more phase (black phase), where you have to survive small amount of time, while screen is shaking. The main problem here is unfair RNG or screen shaking. This boss strangely doesn’t have music, but even that, doesn’t make boss boring, because it was still very fun to learn! By the way, interesting is fact, that actually you can complete boss very easily if you play only darkblue attack, since it is aimed attack, which ends if fruits get hit in the wall or ground, but if you go carefully you can make them not get hit by wall, but again I haven’t tried to skip the boss, so I haven’t tested if it actually works, so if it doesn’t work, then sorry.
Stage 5 main gimmick is needle with green balls, which have one trajectory. It doesn’t make stage too hard, however is interesting to find proper timing for some saves. And similarly like other stages, this stage have awesome music in the background!
Stage 6 is probably one my favourite platforming stages. It have very interesting gimmick- purple stage, where you have spotlight only around kid. This gimmick gives for stage some puzzlish feeling, because you should find out where to go and where not to go. It have also nice tilesets and textures, and interesting jumps (some are harder to do) and very appropriate music too.
Stage 7 is needle stage with touchable button gimmick. This is the hardest stage in the game, but it isn’t too hard or too annoying. It have more unusual jumps or tracks to go. This stage have interesting blue background, but outlines of objects change their colors (in the whole rainbow spectre), which can look similarly like in I wanna Sunspike. Even tho it is the hardest stage in the game, only last save can take little bit longer than other saves, so it won’t be too hard to complete. This stage have quite relaxing music too, so it won’t be annoying stage at all.
Stage 8, which is the last stage in the game, is some kind of easy stage rush and memory stage, where you have to beat 3 screens, which have 2 world gimmicks (there are 3 choices: stage 2 and stage 5 screen; stage 3 and stage 5 screen; stage 6 and stage 7 screen). Screens itself aren’t very hard to beat, since difficulty doesn’t really change much (for stage 6 and stage 7 it makes even easier, because you can skip second save actually). Interesting fact is that all stages have black and white design, and have one soundtrack, which really fits for some reminiscene stage. And after this stage you have unlocked “Thank you for playing!” screen.
To sum up, this is really great game, which have so big variety of stages, musics and different tilesets. And for every stage, you can see, that creator really tried to make this game even better (especially in the stage 1 and stage 8). Yes, game have its bugs and disadvantages, like bug with music, strange bug, where you can’t start new savefile 2, no music for stage 4 and other things, but, still, I really enjoyed this game, and if you can find it, then I highly recommend it for anyone, because it have amazing avoidance and very nice and enjoyable platforming stages, and if you are beginner, then this game can improve your skill too! Even though there are quite a lot of people who dislike avoidance or some other things, I still disagree with them and that is why I highly recommend it for everyone!
For: I wanna be the Rain
This is game, which was started in 2015, but was dropped later and after ~2 years pokepure updated it. With that I mean, that I played it on version 1.1.
This is very unique story-adventure game, which have 5 chapters to beat, and if you want to get true end, then you have to get 4 secrets (which locations are easy to guess, however if you can't guess, then look in folder with unreadable signs, there is screenshots of locations, where are secrets, but I would recommend to find them by yourselfs). All game is on japanese, so it is complicated to get story, because the most of times, you will have to PrtSc and then convert it to translate, or if you will have text boxes, then text will have unreadable signs, which can't be translated, and for this game the main thing is story, which gives atmosphere. But I don't say, that without story, I didn't enjoy it, I really liked music, gameplay, visuals, finding secrets and other interesting concepts. Game has annoying death sound, but it doesn't make game bad, it is still very fun and interesting to play, and that is why I give it so high mark, but still, I would really like if someone will make english translation (or pokepure), because it is pretty sad, that I can't understand the main story. But still I would recommend this pretty easy game!
For: I wanna be the Plumeria
Game starts with pretty easy stage, which little bit reminds of I wanna be the hanamogeta theme, where is quite a lot traps, hanamogetish design and style and with really nice music, which doesn't restart, which wasn't the thing in hanamogeta. There is some interesting enemies from Mario, interesting gimmicks and as boss of this stage, you have fruit, which change its colour after the time. Some attacks are pretty easy, however some could be harder to understand (like yellow one), but you don't actually have to survive every attack, and you can defeat boss faster. Overall very easy stage.
From second stage things gets harder. Stage 2 is secret temple zone, where you have less traps and harder gameplay, but overall it doesn't have too many confusing gimmicks, which should be grinded quite a lot. Boss is little bit harder, than first boss, but is pretty easy compared with platforming of second stage. Boss is some kind of lava monster, which have bunch of random attacks, and you can only deal 1HP damage to it in the beginning of each attack. It have some harder to read attacks, but it won't take too much time.
Things gets even harder in the last stage, which is strange world, which is some kind of magic world (it have some magic fire-balls, some magicians and other stuff), here you will have one main gimmick, which sometimes works very strange - platform on which you can hang on if you tap 's'. Problem is that it sometime glitch on, and kid won't hang on. Here is some annoying parts, which are totally unfun and little bit too confusing. Almost every save should be grinded and if you are beginner, then it can take quite a while. But totally different is boss of this stage. If platforming is quite annoying, then this boss is very fun, however pretty hard. It is Touhou boss (I guess it is Flandre Scarlet, right?), which have attakcs in Touhou style (total of 5 different attacks), which means you can get to next attack, in only certain amount of remaining HP. Some attacks can be very precise, and can take quite a while. But the main reason, why this boss is even harder, is that when you defeat boss, you have bonus phase, where you have to survive given time (it was something like 30 second or so), but in the same time, you have to avoid random bullets, which are quite a lot on the screen, and need to be very careful and even lucky to survive it, since it is very chokable and pretty hard. But even that doesn't make boss annoying, no, it still is very fun boss, which have good music too. Overall, it is the hardest and the most fun boss in this game! Only thing, which wasn't in this game, but should be, is credits, which could be in this game, and would be very fitting.
To sum up, game has very high production value, have very fun bosses and some very fun platforming parts, but, still, gameplay for second and third stage could be changed, because for now they are pretty annoying and mostly unfun. Other thing, which should be in the game is credits, which aren't in this game, but would be very fitting for such game. These are the main reasons, why I didn't give 'favorite' for this game. Other fact is, that game in the beginning could look, like other games, which are very similar, like I wanna Zero game or I wanna be the hanamogeta, but it is still very different and still feels unique. Would recommend for everyone!
For: I wanna clear the Crime & Punishment Ver.W&B
So, let's start with fact, that はる originally made 3 versions of I wanna clear the crime & punishment, which was version w, version w&b and version normal. About version w I can't really say much, since I played just little bit and didn't see anything too different from normal version, but normal version and w&b version are VERY different. W&B is a lot easier, more enjoyable and more fair, than normal version. Originally I played version W&B, since somebody gave it to me, and I didn't know, that there are other versions too. Later on, I tried to find this game for my other PC too to download, and I found, that there is actually more than one version. After testing little bit, I finally found, why version W&B did't felt to be very hard, so I thought to rewrite review, since to be more correct.
About avoidance: It is short 43 second avoidance, which contains both intro and outro, and of course main gameplay. Intro is 3 seconds long, outro is 9 seconds long and main gameplay is 31 second long (before clear I looked these times in one guys video, because I was curious), so you basically have to live ~ half minute, which can look easy, but if you will try, you will get, that to complete game, you need skill too, not only good RNG, however that is important too. Only main difference between some other games, which is similar to this game, for example, Just five seconds and IWBT Burst are different, because this avoidance won't give you such unfair RNG like in Just five seconds and not too precise RNG and such crazy RNG, like in IWBT Burst. And of course this game is more fun than those 2 and I had a lot fun. And yes, this avoidance is last attack from avoidance IWBT White and Black, and there it isn't probably so fun to play.
However game has just 2 real attacks overall and those are curving fruits and timed aimed fruits, but I didn't get frustrated and that was more fun than bunch of unfair attacks, like in Just five seconds, but I wouldn't say that this avoidance was too difficult and took me just 5 hours, which is pretty fast for me, who aren't very skilled player, but it is of course a lot easier than normal version.
Overall, I really liked this version of avoidance (probably it is way more fun than normal version), and I highly recommend to try this version, because it isn't so hard and unfair and is fun to play, and,of course, even this version will definitely improve your skill!
Edit: I tried to look on each version and looks like that the main difference between versions is that in w&b version there spawns like ~9 fruits per burst; in normal like 12 per burst but in version w like ~15 per burst.
