Novelty 2 is a pretty decent needleventure game, with some cool gimmicks and pretty good platforming. Of course, it's worth noting that all the gimmicks are repeats from the first game, making this nothing unique. Regardless, stuff like the light/dark stage and the screen wrap stage are still pretty fun, making good use of their gimmicks. Unfortunately, the needle winds up being pretty basic, so this never goes past "decent".
The real sticking point of this game are the bosses, which I found to almost all be pretty abysmal. Thankfully they're not too hard, but they still manage to be quite annoying. Highlights are the first boss and the autorun boss, which are super annoying and boring fights.

I really should have listened to myself when I thought about playing this like a year ago! It's an awesome game, really showing Erik's level design chops. The platforming is fantastically done, with a wide variety of obstacles, and a gimmick heavy stage at the end that is frankly immaculate.
The game is really good at making fun long saves, while remaining at an accessible difficulty. The usage of big rooms is really well done, and each save has a good flow and is well balanced. The variety of enemies and obstacles are all used well, each feeling like it gets its time in the limelight.
The bosses are yet another highlight. They mix simple attacks with awesome arena changes to create really memorable fights. All the ways the arenas change or move are super cool, and something that made the bosses feel so much more unique.
Overall, phenomenal adventure game, an easy recommendation for all adventure fans. For those who are also into gimmick needle, this is a must play for the moon stage alone.

NUCLEAR PHYSICIST is a really interesting gimmick needle game. The highlight of the game is definitely the visuals, with strange colors and distortions that increase as you descend. This really creates the feeling of delving into an irradiated reactor, making the game feel super special atmospherically. The platforming is really fun, using gimmicks really well. There are a number of short dodging sections mixed in, which is something I love seeing in platforming. The longer saves towards the end are really cool, introducing some fun movements.
The game culminates with a neat boss, where half the battle is figuring out what everything means and what you need to do. In terms of gameplay it's good but not great, however the discovery aspect adds a lot. Ultimately, a good cap for the game.
Overall, an easy recommendation for fans of gimmick-needleventure, particularly those who like cool visuals.

Frankly, I think the reputation this game gets is completely unwarranted. Eight Beelzebubs is completely shit on every time it is brought up. I went in expecting this to be a dumpster fire sudoku mess, where it is redeemable only in the humor of its insanity. However, I wound up playing a creative, varied, adventure game! It's certainly not fantastic, but it's quite good! In fact, I would say that nothing in the game is straight up bad! There's plenty of stuff that's just kinda okay, but there's also several things that are super unique and really cool! I would go so far as to say that this game is better than notable sections in many highly regarded adventure games!
Seriously, this game has some funny basic traps, good silly sections, and some interesting trigger needle. The "bad" parts are just cases of people disliking weird visuals and silly game design. Furthermore, the gimmicks are really creative and are used to make some really fun sections. Highlights are the famous honey stage, an interesting take on a "rhythm" game, and a memory-based color switching section.
Ultimately, this is very much not a game for everyone! The game design is often non-traditional, creating gameplay that's quite wacky (I don't mean this as a euphemism for bad). I can see how people don't like this, but I find the cries of "worst fangame ever" completely divorced from reality. I would highly encourage people to play this, if you are a fan of strange, sometimes abrasive, design.

Despite it's obvious and significant flaws, this winds up being quite the interesting game. There are some legitimately cool gimmick sections, and some gimmicks that are used so rancidly you can't help but to laugh.
Ultimately, it's not a good game, but it's funny, and it has some interesting stuff.
