Fun adventure game! There's some pretty solid needle and fun bosses to play in this so despite being a bit dated it ends up being just a solid experience. The only platforming I disliked was the water area, as the water is pretty broken in this game. The rest of it was great, my favorite was probably the crimson area. The bosses were also cool, my favorites being Rin and Len and the iconic final boss. The only boss I dislike was Luka, and she was my least favorite part of the whole game. Would recommend!

For: Not Another Magic Tower Game
This review is based on a 100% clear, including all achievements.
Not Another Magic Tower Game is a very unique fangame, which incorporates RPG, Puzzle, Platforming, and Bullet Hell to make a truly one of a kind game. The game's fundamental gameplay loop is different from most adventure games. In this game you gradually increase your stats to overcome tougher monsters to get keys to explore more of the tower. Along the way you get items which grant you minor new abilities to traverse the tower better. You even have an HP stat, which makes the game a bit more accessible to newer players.
The best and worst thing about this game is the variety. It's amazing because it means the game is constantly hitting you with fresh stuff making it incredibly binge-able, but it also means that most people playing this game will hit a speed bump of a section they don't like. For me, I disliked the Echoshift minigame, and despised Secret 3. I ended up looking up the solutions for both because I'm just not a fan of puzzle sections with needle thrown on top of them. Others love these sections and I will say they are well designed, but absolutely not my thing.
The only other negatives I can say about this game are a few enemies being kinda annoying and some of the early game needle is pretty stupid, as it's mostly just a bunch of named jumps to get like an attack increase. I don't hate it, but it certainly could have been better.
This game has a ton of content, I already mentioned the minigames, but in the 2nd half of the game a lot of the enemies have much more varied fights which themselves feel like little microgames. There's also more traditional avoidance-style fights which are pretty fun. There's also a gallery where you can refight enemies and most excitingly, do challenges where you beat a bunch of bosses in a row in a certain number of hits. There's just so much to do and most of it is super fun. I would recommend this game, with a guide however as like many others have said, this game can softlock you for misusing your keys.

Classic game I'm not too big on. The needle is okay, nothing mind blowing but also it's an older game and in spite of that it manages to be pretty fun I think. The difficulty curve is ridiculous but that's on purpose so I won't hold it against the game. However, I think IA is a very very bad avoidance. Now again the game is old so it obviously has had a lot of time to age, but beyond just that the avoidance has major issues. To say the good, the audio and visuals are great, with attacks that sync to the song and some very pretty moments. The bad bits are the gameplay, specifically the difficulty balancing. There are far too many attacks which are just standing around waiting for the occasional bullet to come by, the worst offender being the bouncing attacks after the first chorus. These make the avoidance feel very slow, which would be fine if it weren't for the heart attack. At least for me, the heart took a lot of trial and error to understand the best way to dodge, which isn't bad but when the stuff before it is mind numbingly easy to get through it becomes such a chore to grind it out. The bits after the heart are the best part of the avoidance, more barrage style attacks and the sphere pattern at the end is awesome and iconic, but I think the first half makes it so hard to appreciate what comes after.
In conclusion, I don't really like this game that much but it absolutely has good elements and deserves the praise it gets.

The needle screen is kinda whatever, the boss is interesting though. The biggest pet peeve is some of the RNG can be kinda annoying but it's fast paced and fun!

For: I Wanna Kill The Kamilia 2
For: I Wanna Kill The Kamilia 2
This is my least favorite Kamilia game, and despite enjoying replaying it a decent amount, I usually always walk away from this game frustrated at it. This game has some major issues, starting with the needle, stages 1, 2, 3, and 6 are pretty good in my opinion, but stages 4 and 5 tend to rely on a lot of annoying traps or gimmicks, which can make them extremely frustrating. M Stage is cool but again it has traps for no reason. There's not really any traps in this game which are super unique or interesting, they are just there for the sake of being there and serve to unnecessarily kill the player for not knowing it's there. The same can be said for the bosses, there are so many stupid instagibs in this game that are guaranteed to kill you if you don't expect them, which makes the learning process for these bosses incredibly annoying. Influka, Geezer, and Solgryn all have this issue, Geezer is especially annoying because how tedious and long the fight is. Boss rush is a mixed bag, I like Crimson, Destination, and Nue, but Gravityman and Big Kid are my two least favorite bosses in the game. Kamilia herself is an interesting boss, but suffers from the same instagib problems along with some kinda ridiculous RNG. RNG is totally fine, but the issue is a lot of Kamilia's attacks are either completely free or absolutely insane with no in between, which is decided by RNG, which makes it feel unfair when you die.
In short Kamilia 2 is a very frustrating game with quite a few good elements, which in my opinion were greatly expanded upon in Kamilia 3. I'd recommend that game more, although generally K2 is seen as the better game.
